This is my new toy an APM TMB 80 mm f6 refractor mounted on a EQ6 GEM, (German Equatorial Mount), therefore I'm expecting cloudy skies for some appreciable time, please accept my apologies, it's all my fault.
I've decided to upgrade the original dovetail head (saddle plate) to accept Losmandy type dovetail bars, this is a view of the original head, note the narrow dovetail bar.
I replaced that with an Ampuck from Ambermile...
... this allows me to fit a William Optics Combo plate, which accepts the Losmandy dovetails, that just slide in place,...
... giving me this.
NB: The WO Combo plate is supplied with a WO dovetail and in this instance, that is what I have used. Losmandy dovetails will fit into this Combo (saddle) plate but the WO dovetail will not fit the Losmandy saddle plate, the fit only goes one way, not t'other.
But, I do get to fit a Losmandy DSBS side by side plate.
I'll make further postings as I get to know the equipment.
