5 of us made the short trip to Gringley on the Hill to observe the Lunar Eclipse forecsst to occur at Sunset/Moonrise. We chose Gringley because it was on a hill on the plain....
It was very heavily cloudy, of course, so we waited, and waited, knowing it wouldn't improve, and the only thing to change was the sunset at the other side of the sky, and the throat dryness. So we climbed to the top of the hill where a beacon/lantern used to be built in times past to signal important happenings to places further north on the line of beacons. Things like pub opening times etc.
And on to the Bluebell where a folk group was practising in the adjoining room.
These photographs were among the more sensible ones taken. One in either direction, I'm sure you can tell which is which. Not much else to see from the top of a hill on a plain.
