The birthplace and home of Sir Isaac Newton

This last Sunday, 19th June, 2011, I paid a visit to Woolsthorpe Manor, near Grantham. The manor was the birth place and home of Sir Isaac Newton.

It's now owned and maintained by the National Trust and opens only on Saturdays and Sundays, to members of the public. Photography inside the house is not allowed.

This is Newtons apple tree and is a variety called the Flower of Kent. The wicker fence surrounding the tree, is there to stop feet from compacting the ground around the roots.
